Sturridge: Finish Fourth Priority Liverpool

Liverpool – Liverpool will desperately chasing the top four finish. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge insists that ended the season in the Champions League is the priority of the current team.

Until the 29th week, the Reds sit in fifth with 54 points, just two points clear of Manchester United who are in it. Jockeying for position four would be betting both teams when met at Anfield on Sunday (23/3).

Victory 0-1 at Swansea City headquarters marking five consecutive wins in the league Liverpool obtained while extending their unbeaten run since the turn of the year. After the match at the Liberty Stadium, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is so confident.

Rodgers had said that Liverpool have the ability to beat Manchester City in the second position. However, Sturridge chose to focus first chasing a fourth place finish.

“It is important for us to secure fourth spot and from there we could look further,” said Sturridge told Liverpool’s official website. “To finish in the top four realistic for us. That is our target, and if we can finish better then it’s perfect.”

“But to finish in the top four is ambition and it is paramount for us. Nothing else is more important than when it is for now. If we can finish top four, then we can start from there and compete again in the next season,” he continued.

“I think the top four is very possible for us,” complete Sturridge.

In the 2013-14 season, Liverpool successfully finished as runners-up behind champions Manchester City by a margin of two points in the final standings.
